At Pyor, our mission is to protect homes, livelihoods, and stored spaces without unnecessary harm. For decades, rodent control has relied on poisons, snap traps, and glue boards. These methods are effective at killing, but devastating in consequence. Studies estimate that over 7 billion rodents are killed globally each year through conventional pest control. Anticoagulant poisons alone cause slow internal bleeding that can last several days, while glue traps can leave animals trapped for hours or even days, often leading to dehydration, starvation, or self-inflicted injury. This is not pest control. It is suffering.
The harm does not stop with rodents. Research shows that up to 75% of wildlife poisonings linked to rodenticides involve non-target animals, including owls, hawks, pets, and livestock, through secondary poisoning. In rural barns, suburban garages, and RV storage facilities, these methods introduce risks to children, pets, food supplies, and the environment. We believe safety should never require cruelty, and protection should never come at the cost of prolonged pain.
