Having worked a decade in the Pharmaceutical Industry, the idea Pyor came out of discomfort, not opportunity. Our team had spent years exposed to how rodents are treated across industries, from pest control to laboratory testing. Each year, tens of millions of mice and rats are used in laboratories worldwide, often subjected to invasive procedures, confinement, and eventual euthanasia. At the same time, billions more are killed through poisons and traps in homes, barns, and storage spaces. What struck us most was not just the scale, but the normalization of suffering.

We began asking a simple question: why has protection always meant killing. Why had no one meaningfully invested in prevention that respects life. Pyor was born from the belief that progress does not require indifference, and that even the smallest lives deserve consideration. Our founding was a decision to challenge an industry built on harm and to prove that humane alternatives can exist without compromise.

Our first product launch was not about entering a market. It was about offering an alternative. We introduced a plant-based rodent repellent designed to work with nature rather than against it. Instead of pain, it relies on sensory disruption. Within weeks, we heard from families, farmers, RV owners, and pet owners who wanted protection without guilt. The success of our first launch was not measured only in sales, but in relief. Relief that safety no longer had to come at the cost of suffering.

We believe that kindness shouldn't cost a premium. And so, we expanded our team with formulation experts, animal welfare advocates, and operations leaders who shared a common value: effectiveness should never excuse cruelty. This allowed us to achieve supply chain efficiency need to deliver kindness across the globe without hefty fees.

By the end of the year, we were recognized as industry leader with multiple awards for animal safety, innovation and in home improvement.
